Former chief infectious disease specialist in Moscow, virologist Nikolai Malyshev, said Russians living in areas where ticks carry the encephalitis virus should be vaccinated before the start of the summer season. It has been reported URA.RU.

According to him, those who will go to the middle regions of Siberia and the Far East should also be vaccinated. People going south, to tropical countries, to Southeast Asia, then should be vaccinated against hepatitis A.

Malyshev added that citizens themselves should be concerned about which vaccines will help protect them from infections.

Former Head of Preventive Medicine at NTI HealthNet, Candidate of Medical Sciences, family doctor Sergey Chudakov saidif a person is bitten by a tick, and it is impossible to go to a medical facility, you should correctly remove the arachnid yourself.

Once a tick is removed from the skin, it is important to send it to a public or private laboratory for analysis. According to the doctor, this will determine whether the arachnid carries dangerous diseases such as encephalitis or borreliosis.
