The Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case regarding the death of an eight-year-old boy who drowned while swimming with his friend in a makeshift floating boat on the river. “The Korenovsky Interregional Investigation Department of the Regional Investigative Committee of Russia immediately launched a criminal case (Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) into the death of an 8-year-old boy as a result of drowning, ”the report states.
The incident occurred in the village of Novomalorossiyskaya, where two children found an abandoned homemade watercraft and were rafting on the banks of the Beisug River. The weather began to warm up and the children immersed themselves in the water. The children screamed, one of them was rescued by a local resident. The second child drowned.
Forensic investigation is ongoing.
