“It takes a few months to make a new vaccine from a new strain. With the emergence of a new strain, especially a pandemic, we will diagnose very quickly because without a diagnosis it is impossible to diagnose,” he said.
He added that pandemics have a certain period and a new type of flu may appear in the near future.
According to Onishchenko, Russian scientists are able to diagnose and quickly create a vaccine. The problem may only arise with the availability of drugs to treat unvaccinated people.
