Foreign clinics that previously provided medical care to citizens of the Russian Federation began to refuse their treatment more often. It has been reported “Bear” by meeting with the organizers of medical tourism companies.

“A number of German state and university clinics have virtually stopped working with Russian patients. “They are accepting applications, but it’s impossible for them to get a response,” said Victoria Sandaluk, CEO of TopMedClinic service.

Madanes, one of the largest providers of health insurance, confirmed that German public clinics do not serve patients from Russia.

In addition, there are problems with Russian charities in sending patients abroad for treatment. For example, in 2022, American Texas’s Children’s Hospital “unilaterally” suspended its cooperation with the Khabensky Foundation. The fund attributes the suspension of cooperation to the financial concerns of the clinic in the impossibility of paying for treatment from Russia due to sanctions.

In addition, experts interviewed by the portal reported that the demand for medical services from Russians abroad has decreased due to more complex logistics – the absence of direct flights to Europe and increased paperwork costs.

While Switzerland, Germany and Israel were the leaders in the field of medical tourism among Russians, it is noted that now Turkey, Israel and Korea are dominant in this direction.

According to the Israel Health Tourism Association (IMTA), for treatment in Israel in 2022 reached 70% more patients than in 2021. According to preliminary estimates, this is about 10 thousand medical tourists, mostly from Russia. This was reported to socialbites.ca at IMTA. Israel also predicts a 50% increase in the flow of medical tourists from Russia by 2023.
