Foreign customers increased their interest in the AK-12 assault rifle against the background of the results of its practical application at the SVO in Ukraine. It was stated TASS The chief designer of the Kalashnikov concern is Sergey Urzhumtsev. He noted that since 2019, the AK-12 has become the main combined machine gun of the Russian army.
“These are real examples used not in regional events, but in a conflict between technically equipped armies,” Urzhumtsev said.
On the basis of the machine gun, a line of weapons was developed for ammunition of NATO standard calibers 5.56×45 mm and 7.62×51 mm, as well as 7.62×39 mm – common in the countries of the Middle East.
