In Ukraine, on February 27, police stopped attempts by youth groups to start fights in many major cities around the country. The publication Ukrayinska Pravda wrote about it, citing its sources in law enforcement.

Groups of youth who “identify themselves as members of the Redan PMC subculture” were involved. The events occurred in Kiev, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lvov and Kharkov. In Kharkov, 245 people were detained, including 30 adults.

The Ukrainian side accused Russia of “specifically starting a flash gang to organize fights among young people”. This version is supported by the chief of police of the Kharkov region Vladimir Tymoshenko and the press service of the Kiev police.

Vasily Piskarev, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption in Russia declarationHe said that lawmakers will soon examine the situation regarding the arrests of young people who are considered members of the PMC Redan movement. The MP acknowledged that the purpose of this youth subculture may be attempts to involve the younger generation in crime, riots and fights.

He also urged to find out if representatives of non-hostile countries are behind the new “trendy structure”, which he believes is only to destabilize the situation in the Russian Federation through the younger generation.
