Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis at the UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine declarationthat the country is ready at any time to hold a meeting with the relevant parties to discuss compliance with international humanitarian law and a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.

He suggested holding a meeting in the “spirit of the Geneva Conventions”, where discussions could take place on the means needed to “keep in mind what makes us human in the midst of this terrible conflict.”

Prior to that, at this meeting, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the US opposes a temporary ceasefire in Ukraine as it would give Russia an opportunity to rearm.
