Ukrainian refugees in Sweden are unable to buy food and have to turn to charities for food. This is indicated in the schedule of the TV channel. SVT.
Hundreds of the nearly 40,000 Ukrainians who came to Sweden last year were unable to obtain food every day, it was noted.
The current situation is due to the fact that 12 thousand refugees live with state aid. It is difficult for them to find a job without knowing the language. At the same time, the daily allowance is 71 crowns (about 500 rubles).
The plight of Ukrainian refugees has alarmed Swedish charities, municipalities and religious groups. According to SVT, around 400-500 Ukrainians in Stockholm come to the local branch of the Red Cross to get free food.
In response, charity coordinator Magnus Andersson warned that the Red Cross cannot be a long-term guarantor of refugees’ basic needs.
