South Korean Hanwha Aerospace has signed a contract with Polish company WB Group for the supply of command and control systems (C2) for multiple launch rocket systems K239 Chunmoo (MRLS) purchased by Poland in South Korea. Reported by The Defense Post.
According to the publication, the C2 complexes include the TOPAZ integrated combat control system, the FONET digital communication platform and radio communication sets. They will be integrated into all 218 K239 MLRS ordered by the Polish army in 2022.
Hanwha said the contract is an “important step” in the company’s efforts to strengthen its partnership with the Polish defense industry.
The South Korean Chunmoo MLRS is a multi-caliber missile launch system capable of launching 131 mm and 230 mm tactical missiles, as well as 239 mm guided missiles.
The systems were developed in 2015 to hit targets in North Korea.
