Analysts from Delta Security Systems analyzed consumer preferences over the past 3 years and learned how Russian attitudes towards 24-hour surveillance and video surveillance have changed. “socialbites.ca” got acquainted with the results of the study.

Thus, from 2019, the Russian attitude to video surveillance has changed significantly. According to Delta Security Systems, sales of this service and equipment were erratic in the first year of its launch. However, at the end of 2020, 5% of the total number of customers chose CCTV cameras. Today already 15%.

The most popular video surveillance service is in Moscow, with 44% of all cameras sold in St. Petersburg (17%) are in second place, while Chelyabinsk and Yekaterinburg are close to the top three with 6% each.

Often times, customers choose cameras for the interior of a house or apartment, which account for 72% of total sales. At the same time, more than a third of customers prefer to leave the equipment on even when they are at home. This is followed by outdoor video surveillance for cottages and suburban areas with 19%. 9% falls on private home facilities or common areas such as entrances or stairs.

According to consumer surveys conducted by the company over the years, up to 45% of respondents believe any property should be protected using such “tools”, and up to 90% of respondents favor large-scale street video surveillance. system.

Delta also analyzed the most common camera installation purposes. Therefore, equipment for city apartments is installed, first of all, to prevent theft, in the second – to monitor children or hired personnel. However, the cameras installed in the common areas of the apartments are mostly used to provide the general house order.

In private homes, both indoor and outdoor surveillance cameras are almost always installed to protect the property. Surveillance by relatives is not very common here, and older parents rather than children are more objects of surveillance.

“We are seeing a growing interest among customers in smart technologies that not only allow to “protect” real estate, but also help in everyday life, alongside more technological types of property protection,” says Valery Ushkov, Delta Security Marketing Director. systems. – Users are increasingly choosing video surveillance as it can be, for example, a “toy” that lets you watch pets and a real assistant in unforeseen situations.”
