Psychologists from the University of Western Australia have found that risky men are attractive to women who seek short-term relationships and have access to healthy, quality healthcare. The results of the research were published in the journal Evolutionary Psychological Science.
More than 1,300 women from 47 countries were interviewed for the study. The scientists gathered demographic information about the participants and also learned what kind of men they liked. As it turns out, risk-prone men are more attractive to short-term relationships than long-term ones.
“For casual sex, women prefer brave “men” with a good build. For more serious long-term relationships, women value loyal men more. Women in more developed countries have access to contraception and quality medicine so they can afford to have an affair. Other women from social groups tend to reject it, ”explained scientists.
The study also found that bisexual women and so-called “adrenaline junkies” were more risk-averse than heterosexual and risk-averse women.
