The newspaper’s diplomatic correspondent Times Katherine Philp wrote an article for publication where she lists six possible scenarios for ending the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

The author of the article emphasizes that the end of the Russian military operation is still “invisible”, but wonders what the end of this conflict could be.

The journalist said a peace deal is the first of the possible options. The author writes that Russia wanted to “force Kiev to an unfavorable peace”, but bringing Ukraine to the negotiating table has become “the most difficult task”.

The second scenario in the broadcast is called the “war of attrition.”

The third option is a ceasefire that slows down the conflict.

Philp considers the fourth way of the development of events “Russian withdrawal and the victory of Ukraine”, and the fifth – “the collapse of Ukraine and the victory of Russia.”

The last, sixth scenario, according to the author, is “nuclear war or NATO intervention”.

Philp writes that Russia’s use of nuclear weapons would be a red line to provoke the North Atlantic Alliance to intervene. He stressed that it is difficult to imagine another scenario that would push NATO to join the conflict.
