According to the press service of the regional government, more than 2,000 people attended the gala concert of the all-Russian festival “We do not abandon ourselves”, held from February 22-24 at the Kristall Sports Palace in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
“The artists whose name we hear today are not just creative people. These are creators with capital letters who are not afraid to sing patriotic songs where the war continues. As people write and sing songs about love for the Motherland, we will believe in victory. Today, as our men fight for their Homeland, we know that the hearts of millions of our fellow countrymen are with them, we always see each other. Our patriotic festival “We are not abandoning our own festival” has become a clear confirmation of this,” Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Governor Valery Limarenko said.
The head of the region thanked the President of the Russian Federation, the United Russia party and the leadership of the All-Russian People’s Front for their support of the idea of organizing a large-scale musical event at the federal level in Sakhalin. The all-Russian event on Sakhalin was a continuation of the concert in Luzhniki in Moscow.
After the island district, seven more Russian cities embraced the idea of organizing a cultural event. Kemerovo region in Moscow, St. Military-patriotic songs were performed today in St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Novokuznetsk and Belovo, as well as in Lugansk.
As part of the gala concert, Yulia Chicherina, Sergey Bobunets, Dzhango, “7B”, “Va-Bank”, “Zveroboy”, “Earring” groups and Sergey Galanin, Pyotr Lundstrem, Sandra Mantika took part on the island stage. Along with Russian stars, Sakhalin cultural figures – South Sakhalin Chamber Orchestra, White Dew folklore troupe, Exotica folk dance troupe, Drevo Dance Theater, Dmitry Rusanov, Alexei Soldatov and Cherry duet and artists from Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics – “Sobor”, Akim Apachev and Natalya Kachura.
