american actor Alec Baldwin pleaded not guilty Charges of manslaughter and manslaughter this Thursday in connection with the shooting that took place on the set of his latest movie ‘Rust’ in New Mexico, and resulted in the death of the cinematographer. According to a court document, the actor waived his first court appearance and pleaded not guilty. According to CNN’s report, Baldwin was released on a promise not to possess a gun, drink alcohol, and not speak to witnesses of the shooting.
The actor shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins during the recording of a scene in October with a loaded gun that should have been empty but for unknown reason. Both Baldwin and gunsmith Hannah Gutierrez-Reed were charged with manslaughter in January.
While the actor will not appear in court, Gutiérrez-Reed is expected to appear in court this Friday. The court record also states that the shooting of the film will continue under strict measures.
Specifically, Baldwin will be able to communicate with witnesses of the shoot until he’s finished, including promoting the film. Lawyers will need to be present in case the incident is discussed.
