The launch of the Luna-25 automatic station is scheduled for mid-July, writes TASS With reference to the press service of Roscosmos.

Taking into account the astronomical “window” in 2023, the launch of the Luna-25 spacecraft is scheduled for 13.07.2023.

According to Roscosmos CEO Yuri Borisov, the Luna-25 mission has been postponed to next year. The mission’s main problem is that the characteristics of the Doppler speed and range meter do not comply with the requirements of the mission statement. The device was delivered to NPO Lavochkina, passed access control and installed on the spacecraft.

“Luna-25” should be the first Russian device on a natural satellite of the Earth. The project is expected to send an automated probe for research to the moon’s south pole region. The model is planned to be landed near the Boguslavsky crater.
