CloudPayments analysts (the service is part of the Cloud group) learned how online demand for various categories of goods and services changed on the eve of February 23. “socialbites.ca” got acquainted with the results of the study.
The demand for hotels has increased the most online. Online turnover in this category increased by 80%, the number of transactions increased by 27% and the average check increased by 41% from 21,713 rubles to 30,722 rubles. Presumably, such an increase in online demand for hotels and inns is associated with a long weekend dedicated to the Defender of the Fatherland Day celebrations.
In second place in terms of online turnover growth is the category of men’s clothing – here demand increased by 33%, the number of transactions – 14%, and the average check – from 4,132 rubles to 4,751 rubles by 15%.
In the gift and souvenir shops category, online turnover increased by 22%, the number of transactions by 13% and the average invoice increased by 9% from 3,828 rubles to 4,160 rubles.
In fourth place in popularity are cosmetics stores. Online turnover in this category increased by 20%, the number of transactions decreased by 7%, the average check increased by 29% from 3,496 rubles to 4,520 rubles.
On the eve of February 23, the top 5 categories leading in terms of online turnover growth were closed by sporting goods. Here, online turnover increased by 12%, the number of transactions by 12%, and the average check increased by 1% from 11,232 rubles to 11,306 rubles.
Demand is growing for tea sets, florariums, mousse cakes, bento cakes with a festive design ahead of Fatherland Defender’s Day, according to the marketplace of local stores Flowwow (a partner of CloudPayments). Sets are also popular: both traditional tea, coffee and sweet filling, and less familiar ones with meat delicacies or nuts. They also give men indoor flowers, unpretentious in care: cacti are most popular on the eve of the holidays.
“The average check in the category of most gift certificates has grown, its nominal value has increased by 30%. “The average price of such a gift this year is 4,401 rubles,” said Albina Arndt, Head of Accounting at Flowwow.
