EU seeks number of Ukrainian refugees seeking asylum in Europe

The European Asylum Agency (EUAA) reported that last year, approximately 4 million Ukrainians received temporary protection in EU countries, while approximately 1 million more foreigners applied for refugee status. This was reported by the press service agencies.

“In 2022, approximately 966,000 applications for refugee status were made to the EU. <…> In addition, 4 million people who fled Ukraine received temporary protection.”

The EUAA announced that the increase in migration flows is putting significant pressure on national migration services.
