The interim (deputy) Governor of the Zaporozhye region, Evgeny Balitsky, said that volunteers from the Sudoplatov battalion fought the first battle on the front line. It has been reported TASS.
According to the agency, Balitsky announced this during a rally concert in Luzhniki dedicated to the Day of Defender of the Fatherland.
“The guys made reconnaissance, as a result there was the first conflict, it was a baptism of fire,” Balitsky said.
He added that the first division of the battalion, consisting of 144 people, was at the front. Another company is preparing to move, and the two are undergoing combat coordination.
The politician declared that the unit did not suffer any losses.
