GV Plekhanova Olga Lebedinskaya, Associate Professor of PRUE Department of Statistics, said that it seems difficult to find a quality product on hard-to-reach store shelves (bottom or top). However, this is not always the case. Agency reports “Hitting the Primer”.
According to him, stores make special room for “last chance to buy” goods and sell them at the highest possible discount. Usually these are products whose packaging is damaged or whose shelf life has expired. In the face of falling revenues, buyers are ready to choose them. In this case, they carefully examine even the uncomfortable “dead” shelves.
Lebedinskaya noted that previously on such shelves they could place goods in large unclaimed packages or simply be empty. Dead shelves make up no more than 5% of sales, so they are neglected.
The assistant professor added that in the current situation, the stores save on the disposal of the delay, which costs money, but you have to pay taxes for it.
GV Plekhanova Tatiana Chalykh, former Professor of the Department of Commodity Science and Commodity Specialization of the Russian University of Economics said about what everyday goods it is better to buy new, and also what you should not sell twice from those who have served faithfully.
