General Yaroslav Struzhik, former deputy head of the Intelligence Department of NATO’s International Military Headquarters, expressed the opinion that Ukraine has almost no chance of retaking Crimea. He said this on the broadcast of the radio station. RMF FM.

“In my strict assessment, it will be very difficult to return the Crimea. In fact, I am close to saying that this is impossible,” Struzhik said, adding that he sincerely wishes the peninsula to be returned to Ukraine.

The general also expressed confidence that the conflict in Ukraine will sooner or later end through negotiations and that diplomatic solutions will emerge as early as 2023. Struzhik stressed that the experience of the last decades has shown that “no war ends as we expected”.
