“We need to fix the tank problem first, and this iron fist we’re talking about has already been created. Then planes and helicopters,” he said.
The diplomat noted that Ukraine already has pilots who can be “retrained” to further use fighters sent by the Western allies.
He also described Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to the UK as brief but “very successful”. The ambassador stated that his aim was to gain military and political support.
Earlier, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that the Ukrainian leader discussed the possibility of sending fighter jets with him after his visit to London and did not rule out the option of providing military support to Ukraine.
