Idris Arsamikov, 28, who came to Russia from the Netherlands, was detained at Domodedovo Airport to attend his father’s funeral. newspaper reports “Kommersant” Regarding the crisis group “SK SOS”.
The crisis group claims that the operator who came to the Domodedovo duty station to pick up Idris did not show any documents to the local police and refused to inform the lawyer about the detainee’s condition. According to representatives of the crisis centre, a lawyer was not allowed to see the detainee at the airport and later left with the Chechen security forces.
As the airport police officer on duty told the newspaper, the man was placed on the wanted list in Chechnya under Part 3 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed by a person using his official position, as well as on a large scale).
According to SOS IC, Arsamikov is being taken to the police station in the Shelkovsky district of Chechnya.
According to the crisis group, Idris Arsamikov was first detained in Grozny in the summer of 2018 for his close relationship with men. Human rights activists managed to help Idris escape and then moved to the Netherlands, where he received political asylum.
