In the video, the entrepreneur said that Yakushchenko was caught because he disappeared during a combat mission. According to Prigozhin, in captivity, the warrior behaved “like a normal man” and brought a lot of necessary information after his release.
Yakushchenko also said that he was treated harshly in captivity. According to the PMC fighter, he was beaten and tortured, forced to say what they wanted to hear from him.
Earlier, videos were circulating on the network showing the alleged execution of a Wagner PMC fighter, one of whom participated in a special military operation in Ukraine. The video was posted by the Gray Zone Telegram channel allegedly linked to Wagner PMC.
In the comment made under the first video, it was stated that 44-year-old Dmitry Yakushchenko, of Crimean descent, was executed. It was alleged that the man had been repeatedly prosecuted, especially for theft and murder.
According to the portal, Yakushchenko was serving a 19-year sentence, but was later recruited into the ranks of the PMC. The man took refuge with the Ukrainian Armed Forces four days after arriving in the NVO area, and stated in the video himself that he originally planned to flee.
Later, the Gray Zone released a second video showing Yakushchenko sitting on the ground, his head taped to an “anvil” of concrete blocks, and behind him an unknown man in camouflage with a sledgehammer in hand. Kirimli says he was in the Dnieper, and then he was shot in the head. The man awoke in the basement and was told that he would be “judged”.
After these words, a man standing behind him hit Yakushchenko on the head with a sledgehammer.
