Vegetables, fish and foods with a low glycemic index, as well as physical activity will help improve metabolism. Andrey Yakushev, a gastroenterologist at the branch of the Israeli Hadassah clinic in Skolkovo, told socialbites.ca about this.

According to the expert, metabolic disorders most often mean endocrine changes and common diseases – diabetes, obesity, arterial hypertension.

“It is possible to fight these disorders, and it is easy to do if you follow the principles of rational and proper nutrition and do daily physical activity,” said the gastroenterologist.

He noted that it is important for people with metabolic disorders to consume vegetables in the first place.

“A large amount of vegetables reduces the calorie content of food and improves the metabolic process due to the vitamins and antioxidants contained in it, which improves metabolism,” said Andrey Yakushev.

The second product useful for metabolism is fish. It’s all about omega, fatty acids that improve metabolism, reduce the amount of cholesterol in the blood and contribute to weight loss.

“Among the products that disrupt metabolism, on the contrary, sweets can be distinguished – the carbohydrates they contain are to blame,” said the expert.

According to the gastroenterologist, foods with a low glycemic index such as lean meats, dark chocolate and fruits also improve metabolism. In this case, the last two products should be used with caution, without overdoing it.
