CNN Citing three sources, CNN writes that the first missile fired by an F-16 fighter jet at a facility near Lake Huron this Sunday missed its target.

The Pentagon and the White House have yet to confirm such information.

However, NORTHCOM and NORAD commander General Glen Vanherke said the object was difficult to detect and target due to its small size.

“The pilots felt it was really difficult to reach the object because of its size,” Vanherk said.

They used short-range AIM-9X Sidewinders that can see the thermal contrast between an object and its surroundings. However, sources say that even when using such weapons, the first missile did not hit the target. They also don’t know what happened to the rocket.

“In all cases, we have taken extreme care to limit potential collateral damage,” added Vanheerke. It was noted that he did not accept the fact of a miss.

CNN is awaiting comment from the Pentagon.

Fox News was the first to report that the first missile had missed.

Earlier, the Pentagon reported that the object dropped over Canada looked like a metal ball. The military also told lawmakers that the last object dropped on February 12 “slowly sank” into the waters of Lake Huron after being hit by a missile.

formerly Vanherk declarationthat does not exclude the extraterrestrial origin of unidentified objects that the military has struck in recent days over Alaska, Montana, Canada and Lake Huron.
