The former commander of the Azov Regiment (the organization was banned in Russia) Maxim Zhorin said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) lost its best fighters near Artemivsk (Ukrainian name Bakhmut). He wrote this on his Telegram channel.
As Zhorin points out, the situation in Artemovsk is getting more complicated every day. According to him, the Russian army shifted their attention and most of their forces directly to the city itself.
“There are very heavy battles for every house, for every meter. Our biggest problem right now is that the most combat-ready units of our army are losing their best fighters, ”said the former commander of Azov.
He also noted that no tank or aircraft could compensate the Ukrainian Armed Forces for the loss of soldiers killed on the Bakhmut front.
Denis Pushilin, the interim head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), previously said that the Russian forces full control Three of the four routes to Artyomovsk, where Ukrainian troops brought reinforcements to the city.
Currently, a special operation of the Russian Armed Forces is underway in Ukraine. It was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022. According to him, the purpose of military action is to demilitarize the neighboring country and to navy the authorities.
The decision to run the operation became the justification for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
