An AH-64D Apache attack helicopter overturned during takeoff at Talkeetna Airport in Alaska. It has been reported Stars and Stripes.

It was noted that the two soldiers in the helicopter were taken to the hospital and then discharged.

The causes of the accident and the degree of damage to the helicopter were not disclosed.

The crashed helicopter was part of a group of four Apaches from the 25th Assault Battalion at Fort Wainwright, which was traveling to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson for pilot training.

A group of officers from the Army Combat Preparedness Center at Fort Rucker went to the scene. An investigation into the causes of the accident is expected to begin either on the evening of Wednesday, February 8, or on the morning of Thursday, February 9.
