We can’t have this- He sighed- We tried everything, but it can’t be. We found him when he was little and we managed to get over it with a lot of effort. It was the days of bottle feeding, patience and mopping. Now look like this. Sweet, loyal, loving enough, and very noble. I never understood how they could leave him on the street. I cursed those bastards for days and now we’re the ones who came to dump him- He started crying.

They’re kicking us out of the house. We don’t even know where we’re going or what’s going to happen in the future. It’s all so hard! Life broke us.

It was a young couple, a man and a woman. He cried and spoke. He was excited and nervous, his eyes fixed on the dog.

It was a medium-sized cross with long, fair hair, a kind of griffon that continued to wag its tail, not understanding what they were saying, to greet her every word.

At a certain moment, the two of them stopped and stared at him. Then they squatted down and wept goodbye.

The dog was released into the cage and they left the center.

In the following weeks, the dog tried to get used to its new home. It wasn’t easy. He had to adapt and change the comfort of a room to the coldness of a cage.

We did not hear from the owners again until two months later. It was a Saturday morning. Both came.

Finally we have hope. We’re not the same as before, but at least he got a job. This allows us to start a new phase. After long searches, we found a communal flat in which we are allowed to keep animals. It wasn’t the cheapest but it keeps us getting back together. We know the dog here is fine, but we weren’t okay without him.

We escorted them to the cage where he lived, and after the long-awaited meeting, the two of them walked together to start over. I hope they get lucky this time.
