Employers named the opportunity for employees to earn extra money as the main advantage of a part-time job – 80% of respondents responded in this way. 46% believe that a part-time job can provide employees with new experiences that will be useful in their current job. 39% noted a reduction in the risk of occupational burnout, and 15% – a variation in their work routine.

Part-time jobs are most sought after in commerce and retail – these are salespeople, cashiers, consultants, warehouse workers, etc. Additionally, Russians often consider business services such as text translations, legal aid and more to be a part-time job. Courier, order picker, animator, organizer, etc. for part-time work among young people and students. professions are popular. These occupations offer flexible hours and part-time employment. It is also worth noting that often Russians do not earn extra money in their main occupation, but are looking for a source of income by performing simple tasks.

15% of the participants stated that they have a negative attitude towards part-time jobs. Most importantly, employers fear that an additional source of income will distract attention from their job duties – this was said by 70% of respondents who negatively evaluated the consequences of a side job for the company. Decreased productivity and risk of conflicts of interest were identified by 58% of each respondent. 47% of employers are concerned that company resources could be used to complete part-time jobs. 10% also drew attention to the risk of professional burnout.
