Poll: One in three Russians gain 2-3 kilos after the holidays

Russian hotel chain AZIMUT Hotels conducted a survey in which it determined the most preferred ways to get fit after the holidays among residents of large regions of Russia. “socialbites.ca” got acquainted with the results of the study.

According to the research, 31% of the respondents gain weight in the range of 2-3 kg during the New Year holidays. For 14% of respondents, the figure on the scales does not change, 12% gain more than 3 kg. At the same time, the majority of respondents – 43% – prefer not to be weighed, so as not to get upset.

Interestingly, almost half of the Russians surveyed, or 42%, extend their New Year celebrations by a month. 31% of respondents limit themselves to two weeks, for 12% the holiday lasts only one day, and 15% do not celebrate the New Year at all and adhere to a sports lifestyle even on holidays.

Various physical activities are among the measures taken by Russians to lose weight: 32% of respondents walk more, 19% are more active in the gym, 17% go to massage courses. 26% of respondents lose weight with the help of diets, and 6% spend their holidays in a sanatorium, where they eat a balanced diet.

According to AZIMUT experts, Sochi is traditionally in high demand among medical tourism enthusiasts. Another popular spa destination among Russians in January is Kislovodsk.
