Before taking the position of scientific director, Pavel Kamnev was head of the Novator Design Bureau, where Caliber was developed. He was the author of more than 20 inventions implemented by the design bureau and was the co-author of more than 300 scientific and technical reports, including draft designs, research reports, and condition test reports. He was awarded several state awards, including the title of Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation and the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, IV degree.
