There are two approaches to effective business planning, Yulia Bakhonskaya, a practicing psychologist and senior lecturer at the SPbPU Humanitarian Institute Higher School of Engineering Pedagogy, Psychology and Applied Linguistics, stated in an interview with socialbites.ca.
“The first is to determine the amount of work to be done for a certain period of time. It can be formulated as: “I have to prepare a report in two hours, and I will do nothing else until I complete it.” Second, to follow the set schedule and not pay attention to the amount of work done. For example, I will work for four hours with breaks of fifteen minutes, and no matter how much time I have to do, ”explained Bakhonskaya.
These methods are suitable for different situations. If the deadlines are running out, it’s better to go back to the first option. If it is important to do something carefully and in detail, it is better not to rush and resort to the latter.
“Also, it’s important to make a task list, from complex to simple. Take care of the most difficult tasks in the morning: firstly, you will be more energetic and productive in the morning, and secondly, hard work will not hang over you like the sword of Damocles until the evening. And most importantly: don’t work if you don’t want to. Relax and only then get to work, ”advised Bakhonskaya.
