Experts from the University of Tokyo have revealed that an abortion in an unplanned pregnancy is safer for a woman’s soul than the birth of an unwanted child. They talked about it in a magazine article. Women’s Archives.
The researchers compared the outcomes of possible pregnancy outcomes: wanted delivery, unwanted delivery, abortion, and child abandonment. They interviewed 7,162 women who had an unplanned pregnancy and then learned how nervous, anxious, sad, and other negative experiences they voiced.
Women who turned out to be a desirable, though unplanned, pregnancy experienced the least amount of stress. It was slightly higher in those who had abortions. The most severe stress was experienced by women who had to raise an unwanted child or give it to another family. Overall, all women had higher levels of stress with the desired planned pregnancy than the control group.
The majority of women with unplanned pregnancies had secondary education or less, their economic status ranged from “very poor” to “average”, with less than 10% of respondents reporting “good” and “very good” financial status.
“It is important to provide women with equal opportunities for safe abortion and greater support for women who have given birth to unwanted children,” the study’s authors wrote.
