A friend of Capitol police officer Brian Siknik, who died in the January 2021 riots at the US Capitol, is suing former President Donald Trump and two others for suspected assault on Siknik. Top.
Sandra Garza has filed a lawsuit accusing Trump and two rebels – Julian Hater and George Tanios – of being “directly and indirectly responsible” for Siknik’s death, according to the publication. The document states that as a result of the defendants’ actions that “provoked Trump”, the officer was injured and died the next day.
In September, Hater pleaded guilty to attacking three police officers, including Siknik, with a chemical canister during a riot in the Capitol. The Hill writes that Tanios, who handed the box to Hater, made a plea bargain in July on charges related to the January 6 events.
Garza demanded $30 million in damages from Trump and the rebels, accusing them of conspiring, attacking and inciting riots to block the official ratification of the 2020 election.
