Plamen Tonchev, Head of the Bulgarian State Organization for National Security, in an interview with the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency He predicted an increase in the flow of migrants and other difficulties due to the Ukraine conflict.
“Continuing hostilities may increase the flow of migration through Bulgaria,” he said.
Tonchev assured that there is no direct danger to the country at this time, but said negative economic consequences – rising prices and logistical difficulties – are likely.
“Official relations between Sofia and Moscow have escalated, their level has dropped significantly,” he commented on relations with the Russian Federation.
