He lives in the city center of El Campu. The victim was first transferred to Valle del Nalón Hospital and then transferred to the Central Hospital in Oviedo. The woman is the mother of five children, three of whom are small. She was one of the daughters who reported what had happened and called to report that her mother had been beaten.
At nine in the morning, patrols from the Pola de Laviana Civil Guard station appeared at El Campu to arrest the accused. This wasn’t the only time in recent months that sexist violence has punished Caso. a year and a half ago, Maria Teresa Aladro‘Tere’, a native of Caleao’s casina population and neighbor of Pola de Laviana, was shot dead by a hunting rifle. He was 48 years old. SFR, the alleged perpetrator, was her husband of over twenty years and the father of her then 20-year-old son. They had been apart for a short time. The 51-year-old man, a native of Llanos (Aller), surrendered to the Civil Guard after the criminal act. Those who knew the family best stated that he was “very jealous” and that he “had suffered for years”.
The latest recorded case of gender violence in Caso, the brutal beating of a resident’s partner, comes at the end of a particularly dark year in Spain when six women were killed. Added to these was the death of 32-year-old Soraya Suárez from Aviles on 22 December. His partner entered Asturias prison after testifying before the judge. While the incident has been interpreted as a “macho murder” at the political level, investigators have not yet determined the exact circumstances under which Soraya Suárez died in an apartment on Murcia street in La Carriona.
