It is fair to value the enormous task that the United Nations Organization has advanced in protecting the environment.
The UN knows that every international meeting of governments held for the protection of the planet is an opportunity for change. Maybe one of the last. He even recently announced that we only have three years to take measures that could limit global warming without its irreversible effects.
In the 21st century, the UN has declared that natural disasters will continue, floods and extreme droughts will double with forest fires.
Also, if we don’t reduce the emissions of these gases in these three years, and with it the human footprint on the planet, the world will become uninhabitable for any way of life, including ours.
That is why the UN, in its latest resolution of 28 July 2022, wanted to clarify the recognition of people’s right to a healthy environment and a nature that ensures a healthy and sustainable life for future generations.
It was just a warning note about what was to come. The problem is that it is not possible to achieve environmental protection of the planet if all countries do not have an international union. This is not about political ideology. Not left or right. Nor fear for free or threaten the apocalypse. It’s just about common sense, logic and, if possible, survival.
While selfishly suffering the consequences, I know it’s easy to think that the most dramatic ones will be captured by future generations and we’ll be dead by then, but be careful, see how it goes. Changes are moving fast, and perhaps even ourselves and our children suffer some of the worst.
