French Armed Forces Minister Sebastien Lecornu arrived in Kiev on Wednesday (28 December). Channel reports BFMTV.
This visit of the head of the military department of France was his first visit to Ukraine since he took office in May.
It was announced that the minister arrived in Kiev by train from Warsaw, where he had been on a previous visit.
Lecornu plans to meet with the head of the Ukrainian military department, Alexei Reznikov. The ministers plan to discuss the ties between the two countries and then the cooperation between Paris and Kyiv.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a special military operation in Ukraine in response to a request for assistance from the heads of the LPR and DPR.
The decision to run the operation became the justification for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
