According to the investigation, on 23 December 2022, the 73-year-old head of the Tutaev branch of the Hunters and Fishermen’s Association illegally hunted deer near the village of Popadino, using his official position. As a result of this action, more than 640 thousand rubles of damage was incurred.

A criminal case was brought against the man under Part 2 of Art. 258 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal hunting, which, using its official position, causes particularly great damage). He faces up to five years in prison. The suspect is currently under house arrest.
