Expensive mortgages hinder the growth of the birth rate in Russia, stated People’s News Service at a meeting with the Ombudsman for the Rights of the Child in Tatarstan and the leader of the people’s movement “National Parent Committee” Irina Volynets. He recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government on December 15 to develop measures to increase the natural level of population growth and increase life expectancy.
“Some do not even bear a child because there is nowhere to live. As a commissioner for children’s rights, as a mother of many children, I support the initiative to reduce the preferential mortgage rate to 2-3%. I also believe that after the birth of a second child, the family should be exempted from mortgage interest.”
At the birth of her third child, she offered to close the mortgage at the expense of the state. According to him, such measures will strongly stimulate the birth rate.
Formerly Volynets applied To Nina Ostanina, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children, with the proposal to establish the Day of Pregnant Women in Russia.
