White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a briefing that US President Joe Biden will sign the US defense budget, which amounts to approximately $850 billion, this week. DEA News.

“He will sign it within this week,” he said to a reporter’s related question.

Previously reportedThe US Senate has approved the Pentagon’s 2023 military budget of $847.3 billion.

Out of 100 senators, 79 voted in favor of allocating a record amount to the armed forces. The draft military budget for 2022, which grew from $778 billion to almost $850 billion, included the containment of Russia and China in separate spending items.

The initiative also includes allocating at least $800 million for security assistance to Ukraine and $6 billion for a containment initiative against Russia in Europe.
