CloudPayments analysts (the service is part of the Cloud group) discovered how demand for visiting theater and circus performances, as well as amusement parks, has changed over New Year’s Eve and over the past year. “socialbites.ca” got acquainted with the results of the study.
Thus, in the period from December 1 to December 14, compared to the same previous period, the demand for online tickets for circuses and amusement parks increased by 4 times, and the average bill increased from 482 rubles to 1,916 rubles. At the same time, the number of transactions changed insignificantly — increased by 3%. The increase in demand for this category is probably due to the fact that Russians decided to spend their free time for themselves and their children during the winter holidays.
But online demand for theatrical performances, on the contrary, decreased by 11%, the number of transactions decreased by 1%, and the average bill fell by 10% from 2,837 rubles to 2,559 rubles. Perhaps some drop in demand is due to Black Friday taking place during the base study period (November 17–30, 2022), and during this promotion, Russians can get discounted tickets for performances to save money.
Online demand has also changed over the years. On New Year’s Eve this year, online turnover in the theater agencies category increased by 87%, the number of transactions increased by 131% compared to the same period last year, while the average invoice decreased by 52%. From 5,331 rubles to 2,559 rubles. The demand for circuses and amusement parks also increased: online turnover in this category increased by 32%, the number of transactions increased by 51% and the average invoice increased by 92% from 998 rubles to 1,916 rubles.
“A year ago, on New Year’s Eve, it was difficult to plan family trips to a place due to coronavirus restrictions: for example, halls were limited in occupancy and visiting public places required a QR code confirming vaccination. Therefore, now that these restrictions have been removed, visiting cultural sites has become easier and more accessible,” commented Tatyana Glazacheva, CEO of CloudPayments.
