Retired US Naval Intelligence Officer Scott Ritter said the Ukrainian Armed Forces cannot use Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems without months of prior training. It has been reported DEA News.
According to him, even fully trained teams adapt to this system for a long time because it is very difficult to manage.
At the same time, Ritter explained that the only place the military has been trained to operate Patriot complexes is in the United States.
“Logically, the Ukrainians would have to be sent there,” said the intelligence officer.
He also said that it would be impossible to integrate the Patriot into the Ukrainian air defense system, so the delivery of the complex would only complicate the situation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Ritter believes that Ukraine, which suffered a major defeat, “would lose anyway”.
Previously reportedThe US President said his administration could approve the shipment of Patriot missile defense systems to Kiev this week.
According to military expert Alexei Leonkov, American systems are unlikely to fully withstand Russian missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.
