The US has imposed sanctions on Russian oligarch Vladimir Potanin and a dozen Kremlin companies and partners.

The United States Department of the Treasury announced this Thursday numerous packages of sanctions against individuals and companies close to the Kremlin and the Russian President. Vladimir Putinamong them, the oligarch Vladimir Potanin, in response to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

Along with Potanin, “one of Russia’s richest men”, the Treasury sanctioned forty people, including Kremlin officials such as the first deputy prime minister. Andrei Belousov and deputy prime ministers Dimitro Chernishenko, Sergei Franko, Oleg Belozherov and Oleksi Sazanov.

Same way, Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) Undersecretary of the Treasury Brian Nelson announced that he has blacklisted 18 more institutions related to Russian financial services in an attempt to “isolate” Moscow from global markets.
