One person was killed and five injured when a passenger bus collided with a passenger car on a highway in the Sverdlovsk region. TASSHe cites Valery Gorelykh, head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the Sverdlovsk Region of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to him, the incident occurred on December 11 at 15:00 (13:00 Moscow time), in the Nizhneturinsky district of the Sverdlovsk region, on the 235th km of the Yekaterinburg-Serov highway. Yutong passenger bus, traveling on the route Karpinsk – Krasnoturinsk – Yekaterinburg, collided with a Land Cruiser-200 car.
It was determined that the driver of the foreign car, the manager of a commercial enterprise from Ivdel, died. There were 27 passengers and the driver on the bus, five of whom were injured of varying severity. The injured were taken to hospitals.
“The crossover driver chose a speed that did not suit the particular weather conditions and as a result, he entered the opposite lane and collided with a bus there,” Gorelykh said.
Traffic near the accident scene is temporarily regulated in one lane. Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs appointed an examination for the presence or absence of alcohol or other prohibited substances in the blood of the deceased.
