It’s the second drop in foreclosures on habitual residences after seven-quarter increases, according to foreclosure statistics released this Monday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
The main purpose of this statistic is to present quarterly the number of lien certificates initiated and recorded in the Property Registers during the reference quarter. Statistics remind that not all liens end with the release (evacuation) of their owners.
In the third quarter of this year, 4,105 foreclosures were initiated, 38.3% less. 42.3% less than in the same period of 2021 and in the second quarter of 2022. Of these, 3,917 (including homes) affected urban farms and 188 rustic farms.
Foreclosures on urban properties decreased by 37.3% compared to last year in the third quarter and 41.7% compared to the previous quarter. 2,884 executions on urban farms amounted to 29.9% less than the third quarter of 2021 and 37.2% less than the previous quarter for homes.
