Project 20380 multipurpose corvette “Mercury” entered the Gulf of Finland in the Baltic Sea for the first time to carry out the final stage of factory sea trials. It has been reported TASS Regarding the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The Ministry noted that the start of the tests was notified to the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, at a meeting on surface shipbuilding held at the Naval Forces Command.

The crew of the corvette will in a few days check the maneuverability of the ship, the performance of systems, mechanisms and weapons. After the tests, “Mercury” will return to the factory to fix any final issues before the state tests.

The Corvette “Mercury” was released in 2020. The ship is equipped with the Package-NK anti-submarine system, the Redut anti-aircraft missile system and the A-190 artillery bed. The corvette also carries Kh-35 anti-ship missiles.
