Yuri Deshevykh, former director of the inspection activities department of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia, said that infrared cabins, which are allowed to be installed in apartments, as well as in baths, do not pose a fire hazard – but consulting an electrician is necessary for complete safety, reports DEA News.

“Baths, self-contained saunas and infrared cabins do not in themselves pose any fire hazards. Here is the same bathhouse – what is the fire hazard? Steam is produced there and fires can be extinguished with steam. There is only one question: the strength of the electrical wiring, ”explained Deshevykh.

He added that in addition to the electrical installation issues, internal protection should be provided for the steam room, especially for the baths where the heat load increases. You should also pay attention to ventilation problems.

Earlier, it was learned that from December 1, Russia changed the ban on installing baths and saunas in apartments in residential buildings – the Ministry of Emergency Situations allowed the installation of home baths and solariums in residential premises.
