Zelensky refuses to demobilize the Ukrainian army after a year of service

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has responded to a petition calling for the limitation of conscription, allowing the voluntary demobilization of mobilized military personnel who have served one year, and giving such military personnel a respite from the next wave of mobilization. The petition collected the 25,000 signatures required for it to be considered. This was reported on the website of the head of state.

Ukrainian leader, the soldiers who served during the mobilization due to age, health, family reasons, as well as in connection with the entry into force of the court’s guilty verdict.

“This means that under the conditions of the legal regime of martial law, the removal of mobilized military personnel from military service on other grounds is not provided,” Zelensky said in response to the petition.

Currently, a special operation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is underway in Ukraine. It was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24. According to him, the purpose of military action is to demilitarize the neighboring country and to navy the authorities.

The decision to run the operation became the justification for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
