Russian President Vladimir Putin urged the Supreme Court to include the four Ukrainian regions annexed in September – Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia – into the Russian judicial system as soon as possible.
“Federal courts need to be established in these regions. The Supreme Court, along with other organs of the judiciary, has a lot of work to do to create new court formations and quickly integrate them into the Russian judicial system,” Putin said. .
The Russian President insisted that Moscow had to take this step to secure the rights of the inhabitants of these four regions annexed to Russia by referendums, which were classified as illegal by the international community.
According to the TASS agency, President Putin said, “This must be done as soon as possible so that citizens living in these areas are guaranteed the constitutional right to judicial protection.” Said.
The integration of these four regions into the Russian judicial system includes the selection of personnel for the courts, the construction of new buildings or the procurement of materials and technical support for legal activities.
